The PlayStation database itself may have revealed the release date for God Of War Ragnarök, although some suspect it could be a placeholder.

The long-awaited sequel to 2018’s God Of War, titled God Of War Ragnarök, is easily one of the most anticipated games of 2022, especially after the September trailer correctly showed the game for the first time.

An official release date has not been announced yet, but it is believed that the PlayStation database listing for the game may have revealed it. Twitter account PlayStation game size, which regularly monitors the database, says that God Of War Ragnarök is scheduled for September 30, 2022.

PlayStation Game Size notes that this might just be a placeholder, but it’s certainly credible and could give fans a rough idea of when the game will be out.

Aside from God Of War Ragnarök, Sony’s other top releases for next year are Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. The first is scheduled for February 18, and the second for March 4.

Sony obviously wouldn’t want any of their games to be released too close together and risk one outshining the other. A release date in January can also be ruled out as it is only next month and when the God Of War 2018 game will be released for PC.

Given the lack of information on God Of War Ragnarök so far, a fall release window seems likely, but fans will finally have to wait until there is an official announcement from Sony.

This is not the only game that has its release date potentially leaked through the database. PlayStation Game Size also mentions Sonic borders Y Oxenfree 2: Missing Signals being included for November 15, 2022 and February 8, 2022, respectively.

Sonic Frontiers is Sega’s next main entry in the Sonic The Hedgehog series. Its most recent trailer confirmed that it will be an open world game, the first in the series, but the only footage on the engine shown was from environments with no game to speak of.

Oxenfree 2 is a standalone adventure game from Night School Studio and a sequel to the 2016 original. Not much is known beyond the initial trailer, although it appears to be another supernatural thriller.

God Of War Ragnarök will be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2022.
